Meet Charlie Cain, owner/operator of the Wine Kitz location in the west end of Saint John, New Brunswick.
Background:
Charlie became interested in the concept of home winemaking 35 years ago when he put on his first of many batches of wine. In the ensuing years, he has acquired valuable winemaking knowledge and expertise. In 1994, an opportunity to become an independent Wine-Art dealer store became available to Charlie, and he opened his store under the name of Mr. Brew. His customers affectionally called him The Brew Man. In 2003, Charlie joined the Wine Kitz franchise network, and hasn’t looked back. Since the introduction of the in-store winery services in 2004, he has – happily – had to re-configure and expand his store twice!
Charlie shares his winemaking expertise within the community as well as with his customers. He has taught winemaking classes at the community college, and has been a guest speaker on winemaking techniques at local service clubs, legion, seniors clubs and neighborhood wine clubs. Charlie believes that wine making should be easy, simple and fun.
