Meet David Cvet and Gail Smith

About Us

David grew up in Welland, Ontario, and studied both genetics and computer technology at the University of Toronto. He has worked in diabetes research and in information technology across the financial industry. David has a passion for Heraldry, European history and medieval martial arts and is active in several charitable and non-profit organizations devoted to these pursuits. He started coming to Nova Scotia in the 1990’s when he met and married a Nova Scotian and has developed a deep appreciation of the maritime life while spending time here in the summers.

Gail was born and raised near Digby, lived and worked for a time in Halifax and has business degrees from both Mt. St. Vincent University and Dalhousie University. She moved to Toronto in 1982 to work for Scotiabank, holding several senior management positions across finance, investment banking and business services in her twenty-three year career with the bank. She is an avid gardener, enjoys genealogy, and has a deep interest in the sciences. Nova Scotia has always been her one true home.

In 2005, David and Gail decided to spend more time with family here and started to split their lives between Ontario and Nova Scotia. This year, they decided to make the move to Nova Scotia permanent.
